I was floored to discover that SLSB is mentioned in this month's issue of InStyle - in the list of InStyle's Hot 50 Websites to be exact :)
Seeing my name in this magazine actually gave me a bit of a shivery flashback....to 2003, when my life could not have been more different.
I vividly recall reading InStyle (it was my favourite magazine at the time) in the bath one wintry night, my fingertips shrivelled like sultanas, the water slowly growing cold. I remember the issue - Friends was still on TV and Courteney Cox was on the cover.
I remember sighing inwardly at the stories of interesting people and pictures of gorgeous clothes and exotic destinations I could only dream of wearing or visiting, wondering how I'd ended up where I had, wanting so desperately for things to be different and having no idea where to start.
Ten years later, living another life on the other side of the world, to see my name mentioned in the pages of that same magazine....it's a bit mind-blowing. I've come a bloody long way. I forget that sometimes.
